Lewis and Clark Community College coordinated and implemented the ISTC Water Audit Training project. With 30 staff and faculty members from many colleges in attendance, they demonstrated how to conduct campus water audits and make water efficiency improvements. These schools are now conducting their own audit and improvement efforts. In addition, Lewis and Clark is running several on-campus native planting/water management projects for storm water management. Their Haskell Hall Parking Lot Improvement Project in Madison County is an $800,000 project partially funded by the Illinois EPA’s Illinois Green Infrastructure Grant Program. It will install pervious pavers and native plant bioswales to slow and filter storm water before it reaches an impaired waterway.
