David Husemoller joined IGEN as Executive Director in 2023, helping to promote energy efficiency, renewable energy, a culture of sustainability and workforce training at community colleges around Illinois. He served as the Sustainability Manager for the College of Lake County (CLC) for over 9 years. During this time CLC gained several awards and certifications for integrating sustainability into campus operations, curricula and also community outreach. David taught sustainable landscapes and landscape management at CLC for over 12 years. He worked as a small business owner, in retail and design consulting for native landscaping for over ten years. David is a graduate of St. Olaf College (BA in Psychology and Education), Loyola University of Chicago (MSW), and University of Illinois at Chicago (MUPP).

TIM GIBSON

After a 30-year career in the construction industry as a residential and commercial contractor, Tim Gibson began teaching in the John A. Logan College (JALC) Construction Management Program in 2006. As a faculty member, he taught a range of courses in construction management and applied technology focusing on green building and energy efficiency. As Coordinator of Sustainability at JALC, Tim established the JALC Sustainability Center and the JALC Green Committee. He retired from JALC in 2020 after serving as Director of Sustainability and Director of Buildings and Grounds. Tim has worked with IGEN since 2010 in various capacities including college liaison, state-wide IGEN project coordinator, and technical consultant. He has been a member of the IGEN administrative team since 2014.

BRAD MCCORMICK

Brad McCormick retired as Vice President for Business Services and Facilities, and Chief Financial Officer at John A. Logan College in Carterville, IL. Brad brings his leadership and data analysis skills along with valuable expertise in college finance and business operations, project planning, energy procurement, and solar installations to the IGEN team. He has a BA in Finance/Economics from Union University and an MBA from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.

MARCY THOMPSON

Dr. Marcy Thompson began her career in higher education in 1996 at the College of Lake County in the Adult Education Department, overseeing state and federal grants to support ESL, ABE, and GED programs. In 2006, she transitioned to Elgin Community College where she served as the AVP for Teaching, Learning and Student Development for over 13 years.
Marcy collaborated with academic, administrative, and institutional strategic planning, budget management and change management. She also provided leadership and guidance in policy development, faculty development, grant writing, curriculum development and implementation.
She retired after 28 years serving in the Illinois Community College System and has worked with IGEN since 2009 in various capacities, including collaborating with the original grant application with College of Lake County leadership. She has been a member of the IGEN administrative team since June 2025.
