Work Groups
What is an IGEN Work Group?
An IGEN Work Group is comprised of Illinois community college staff (i.e., IGEN liaisons, sustainability professionals or any staff interested in assisting with the Work Group efforts). Each IGEN Work Group is assembled to complete a specific set of tasks in a given time frame (e.g., Greening Your Curriculum Train the Trainer workshops; Energy Management Best Practice Packages). A Work Group is led by an IGEN administrative team member and is given specific deliverables (based on program funding). Time frames are determined by funded program needs, but each Work Group will last a minimum of one semester. The Work Group identifies their objectives, needs, work plan and individual responsibilities to achieve the deliverables. |
Topics and Scope
Work Group topics are identified through the IGEN administrative team and through the terms of specific grant deliverables. Once formed, Work Group members work to complete a process and assigned task(s) to benefit the Network.
Final Products and Review
The final products of a Work Group can include events, best practice packages, resources for programs, and other materials and presentations. A Work Group may continue to convene after this stage to modify and expand on past products and deliverables.
