Local Foods Task Force

Description:

The local foods task force will work to:

  • identify factors that impede the growth of local food markets, such as policies at the local, county and state levels
  • Define how community colleges are impacted by the economic, health and environmental benefits of local food ; and
  • Promote community involvement that will create synergies and partnerships between the various stakeholder groups that drive market-based changes to positively affect the local food supply chain.

Goal:
To identify and prioritize how the Network can support, assist and engage Illinois community colleges to participate in, expand and promote local food markets.
