IGEN Transportation Task Force (TTF) – Electric Vehicles (Fall 2011)

Goals:

The goal of this task force is to research the status of electric vehicles (EV) and the DCEO's Electric Vehicle Charging Station Network Initiative (or similar program/initiative), to identify the potential impact of EVs and charging stations on community college campuses, and to provide recommendations for how IGEN and IGEN colleges should proceed.

Plan:
Over the next four months the EV Task Force will work to:
  • Research and/or review the following resources to identify if/how these can be implemented throughout IGEN:
  • Create a whitepaper outlining electric vehicle technology, timelines, challenges to implementation and opportunities for demonstration, implications for fueling, recent state and local policy changes and implications to local Illinois Communities.
  • Provide recommendations on how the Community College system can/or should integrate with DCEO’s Electric Vehicle Charging Station Network Initiative or similar type programs.

Over the next several months, members of this work group will meet to identify priorities, collect data and develop a process for implementation. The goals and deliverables set forth here are subject to change pending work group member progress.
